David Sandidge

David began flameworking in 1979 at age 15. He went to work as an apprentice at a factory in Virginia learning to make glass figurines. After working many years and rising through the ranks teaching and designing, he was approached by the Arribas Brothers Company at Walt Disney World and asked to come to work for them producing limited edition Disney Characters. With Arribas, David would eventually travel the globe teaching, designing and demonstrating at the Disney locations in Paris, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. In 2006 David went to work for The Glass Gallery out of St Louis Mo. designing merchandise from his home studio in Florida and teaching at their factory near Beijing. His designs are sold seasonally in mall kiosks throughout the United States during Mothers Day and the Christmas Holidays. In 2008 David returned to work for the Arribas Brothers Company and is still residing in the Orlando area with his wife Dixie who is also a lampworker for Arribas and designs her own line of jewelry and demonstrates her talents daily at Walt Disney World’s Epcot theme park. David’s current work focus is in large solid and blown sculpted pieces and can be found in private collections throughout the world.
